The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to make a historic State Visit to India from 8 – 11th of October 2023 at the invitation of India national leaders. Our two countries enjoy excellent historical relations. Our people have interacted for as long as monsoon winds have been blowing over the Indian Ocean. India was one of the first countries to open an embassy in Tanzania in 1961, and our embassy in Delhi is one of our first few (1962). During the visit, the President will also address the Tanzania – India Business and Investment Forum co-organized by three premier business associations in India (FICCI, CII, and ASSOCHAM) and Tanzania Investment Center and TPSF. A delegation of about 80 businesspeople from Tanzania will join 130 India’s top business people for the Forum. The President will also hold a CEO Roundtable with top 15 India’s CEOs and business leaders for a focused discussion on investment opportunities in key sectors in Tanzania. During the visit, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and her delegation will hold official bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of India, the Rt. Hon. Narendra Modi, and the President of India, H.E. Droupadi Murmu, who will also host a State Banquet in her honour. The visit will also result into the signing of about 15 agreements on cooperation between the two countries in education, agriculture, blue economy, defence, maritime security, health, ICT, trade and investment, water and other sectors. India will also seek to establish a sizable industrial park in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam. At the conclusion of the visit, the two leaders will make some important announcements on the elevation of the partnership between the two countries
