The Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Hon. Angellah Jasmine Mbelwa Kairuki (MP), held discussions with Vodacom Group’s Director of Communications and External Relations, Mr. Ayman Essam, at the Ministry’s offices in Mtumba, Dodoma, today, Tuesday, January 06, 2026.
The discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Government and the private sector in promoting the development of the communications sector and the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as well as fostering investment and innovation in line with global technological advancements.
Speaking after the meeting, Hon. Kairuki said that the Government continues to take various measures to ensure that communication services are of high quality, affordable, and accessible to more citizens—particularly in rural and remote areas, while also enhancing an enabling environment for investment in the ICT sector.

On his part, Mr. Ayman Essam commended the Government for its ongoing efforts to develop communications infrastructure and expand the use of technology, and noted that Vodacom Group is ready to continue collaborating with the Government to introduce innovative solutions that support the growth of the digital economy in the country.

During the discussions, the two sides also addressed key issues including expanding internet access, strengthening the security of digital services, and exploring opportunities to apply ICT across various sectors, including education, health, business, and online Government services.
