Minister Kombo Calls on SAS-CFR Graduates to Apply Education in Advancing National Development

Dar es Salaam

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), has called upon graduates of the Dr. Salim Ahmed Salim Centre for Foreign Relations (SAS-CFR) to utilize the knowledge and skills they have acquired as a catalyst for positive transformation and sustainable national development.

The Minister made the remarks during the 28th Graduation Ceremony of the Centre, held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam, where he officiated the award of certificates to 900 graduates from various academic levels and professional disciplines. He emphasized the importance of graduates upholding innovation, integrity, and patriotism, noting that education remains a key instrument for addressing national challenges and improving individual livelihoods.

Hon. Kombo further encouraged the graduates to explore opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship, in line with the Government’s efforts to address unemployment. He noted that the Sixth Phase Government, under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, has directed all Local Government Authorities to allocate budgets for loan schemes targeting youth, women, and special groups to support entrepreneurial initiatives.

In addition, the Chairperson of the SAS-CFR Governing Council, Ambassador Ramadhan Muombwa Mwinyi, appealed to the Government, through the Ministry, to consider SAS-CFR graduates when opportunities arise that require professionals trained in international affairs. The graduates were awarded certificates in programmes including International Relations and Diplomacy, International Relations Management, Peace and Conflict Management, Economic Diplomacy, and Strategic Governance.
