Tanzania–China Talks Focus on Infrastructure, Trade, and People-to-People Cooperation

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Government of the People’s Republic of China held high-level bilateral talks in Dar es Salaam, led by Hon. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, and H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of Tanzania, with the participation of Hon. Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (Mb), Minister for Finance.

The discussions reaffirmed the strong and longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries and explored opportunities to further deepen cooperation in key areas, including infrastructure development, ports, the modernization of the TAZARA railway, education, trade, digital connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides expressed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial development initiatives and strengthening bilateral relations for the prosperity of their peoples.
