ICT Minister Kairuki Visits Huawei in Shenzhen to Strengthen Tanzania’s Digital Transformation Agenda

The Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Hon. Angellah Jasmine Mbelwa Kairuki (MP), has visited the Von Neumann Exhibition Hall of Huawei Technologies in Shenzhen, China, to gain first-hand insight into the innovative digital solutions developed by the global technology company.

During the visit, Hon. Kairuki was briefed on the application of advanced technologies, including 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and modern communications infrastructure, across key sectors such as mining, healthcare, education, transport, ports, financial services, and smart city development.

The Minister commended Huawei for its more than a decade of cooperation with the United Republic of Tanzania, noting the company’s contribution to the growth of the country’s ICT sector. She encouraged Huawei to further strengthen its partnership with Tanzania, particularly in priority projects such as the expansion of the National ICT Broadband Backbone, the construction of telecommunications towers in rural and underserved areas, and the implementation of corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Hon. Kairuki emphasized that continued collaboration with strategic technology partners is critical to enhancing the delivery of public services through modern digital solutions and accelerating the growth of Tanzania’s digital economy.
