President Samia Hands Over Diaspora-Supported Jeep Wrangler to Strengthen Tanzania’s Global Tourism Promotion

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has handed over the key to a Jeep Wrangler to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbas, as a symbol of continued collaboration between the Government and the Tanzanian diaspora in promoting the country’s tourism sector.

The vehicle was used by Tanzanians residing in the Sultanate of Oman during regional outreach initiatives supporting President Samia’s global tourism promotion campaign through the internationally acclaimed film _“Tanzania: The Royal Tour.” The initiative has played a key role in strengthening Tanzania’s visibility across the Middle East and Africa.

The handover ceremony took place at State House, Tunguu, Zanzibar, reflecting the Government’s commitment to institutionalising diaspora-driven tourism promotion and reinforcing the Ministry’s role in advancing sustainable tourism development and international marketing.

President Samia reaffirmed the importance of strategic partnerships in tourism diplomacy and acknowledged the contribution of Tanzanians abroad in amplifying Tanzania’s global tourism brand.
