Dubai — January 2026
The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, on Monday night participated in the official launch of the Global Africa Investment Summit (GAIS) in Dubai, an event marking a new phase in Africa’s efforts to attract global capital through structured, credible, and financially sustainable investments.
Addressing the summit, President Samia emphasized that today’s investors are not only searching for opportunities, but also for trust—built on policy stability, strong institutions, and governments that honour their commitments. She highlighted Tanzania’s deliberate and strategic investments in energy, railways, ports, and transport infrastructure, alongside reforms aimed at improving the investment climate.
The President further outlined Tanzania’s progress in establishing Special Investment Zones and strengthening the One-Stop Investment Centre, initiatives designed to simplify investment processes and provide long-term certainty for both domestic and international investors.
President Samia noted that Tanzania’s participation in GAIS reflects the country’s determination to engage in well-structured partnerships aligned with national development priorities and the expectations of global investors seeking impact-driven opportunities.
The Global Africa Investment Summit aims to align political leadership, national resources, and international capital, positioning Africa—and Tanzania in particular—as a competitive hub for investment that delivers tangible results, job creation, and sustainable economic development.
