
Dodoma, Tanzania | 24 February 2026 — The President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, officially inaugurated the National Defence Headquarters (MMUT) building in Kikombo, Dodoma Region, marking the occasion with a ceremonial light pistol salute.
The symbolic gesture signified the formal commissioning of the new defence facility, which is set to enhance Tanzania’s strategic military coordination, operational efficiency, and institutional capacity within the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF).
The newly inaugurated headquarters represents a major milestone in the Government’s continued investment in modern defence infrastructure, reinforcing national security systems and strengthening command operations at the highest level.
As Commander-in-Chief, President Samia’s leadership underscores Tanzania’s commitment to safeguarding sovereignty, promoting professionalism within the armed forces, and ensuring readiness to respond to emerging security challenges.
