
Arusha, February 24, 2026 – The 4th Session of the Tanzania–Zambia Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security (JPCDS) at the Public Security Sector level continued yesterday at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), gathering delegates from both countries to deliberate on key security matters for the mutual benefit of the two nations.
The high-level meeting underscores the long-standing cooperation between the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Government of the Republic of Zambia in promoting regional peace, stability, and cross-border security.
Representing the Commissioner General of Immigration Tanzania, CGI Dr. Anna Makakala, Commissioner of Immigration for the Passport and Citizenship Division, CI Gerald Kihinga, participated in the session.
Other senior officials in attendance included the Zanzibar Immigration Commissioner, CI Hassan Ali Hassan; Commissioner of Immigration for Legal Services Division, CI Novaita Mrosso; Commissioner of Immigration for Residence Permits, Visa and Passports Division, CI Angela Shija; along with other senior immigration officers from both Tanzania and Zambia.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in areas of immigration management, public safety, and joint security strategies, further reinforcing bilateral relations and regional security frameworks between the two neighboring countries.
The Tanzania–Zambia JPCDS remains a key platform for dialogue and coordinated action on defence and security matters, reflecting the commitment of both nations to maintaining peace and sustainable development in the region.
