Arusha, Tanzania – March 3, 2026 – The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) has joined the global community in commemorating World Wildlife Day, reaffirming its dedication to safeguarding Tanzania’s rich biodiversity and strengthening conservation excellence across the country’s national parks.
World Wildlife Day serves as a reminder of the critical role wildlife plays in sustaining ecosystems, supporting livelihoods, and promoting sustainable development. As custodian of some of Africa’s most iconic protected areas — including Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, Ruaha, and Nyerere National Parks — TANAPA continues to lead efforts in habitat protection, anti-poaching initiatives, ecological monitoring, and community engagement.
Tanzania remains one of the world’s premier wildlife destinations, with its national parks contributing significantly to tourism, employment, and climate resilience. Through sustainable tourism models, TANAPA ensures that conservation efforts not only protect endangered species but also empower surrounding communities and preserve natural heritage for future generations.
On this year’s World Wildlife Day, TANAPA reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, strengthened partnerships, and enhanced environmental stewardship to address global challenges such as biodiversity loss, climate change, and habitat degradation.
As Tanzania celebrates its natural heritage, TANAPA continues to position the country as a global leader in conservation and sustainable wildlife management.
