President Samia Arrives in Arusha for 25th East African Community Heads of State Summit

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has arrived in Arusha City to participate in the 25th Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State of the East African Community (EAC) scheduled to take place on March 7, 2026 at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC).

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) on Friday, President Samia was received by Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Hon. Nurdin Babu, Arusha Regional Commissioner Hon. CPA Amos Makalla, along with other government leaders and officials.

The summit will bring together leaders of EAC member states to discuss regional cooperation, economic integration, security, and development priorities across the East African region.

Arusha, which hosts the headquarters of the East African Community, regularly serves as a key venue for high-level regional meetings and diplomatic engagements.

Other priority areas of cooperation highlighted during the discussions included agriculture, information and communication technology, livestock and fisheries, education, energy, as well as defence and security cooperation.
