Uganda President Yoweri Museveni Arrives in Tanzania for 25th East African Community Heads of State Summit

Kilimanjaro, Tanzania – March 6, 2026

The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has arrived at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) in Kilimanjaro Region to attend the 25th Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State of the East African Community (EAC).

The high-level regional summit is scheduled to take place on March 7, 2026, at the East African Community Headquarters in Arusha City, bringing together leaders from EAC member states to discuss key issues related to regional integration, economic cooperation, peace, and development.

Upon arrival in Tanzania, President Museveni was received by Tanzania’s Minister for Home Affairs, Hon. Patrobas Katambi, accompanied by several senior government officials.

The summit is expected to strengthen collaboration among East African nations and advance discussions on regional development, trade, and strategic partnerships within the East African Community bloc.

Arusha serves as the headquarters of the East African Community, hosting major diplomatic and regional meetings that shape the future of East Africa’s political and economic integration.
