
Arusha, Tanzania – March 7, 2026
The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, held discussions with regional leaders ahead of the closed-door meeting of the Heads of State of the East African Community (EAC) at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC).
Among the leaders present were H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya and Chairperson of the East African Community, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, and H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of Somalia.
The leaders met before the start of the high-level internal session of the EAC Heads of State Summit taking place on March 7, 2026, in Arusha, Tanzania.
The summit brings together heads of state and senior officials from across the region to deliberate on key priorities for regional integration, economic cooperation, peace, and development within the East African Community.
Arusha, home to the East African Community headquarters, continues to serve as a central hub for regional diplomacy and cooperation in East Africa.
