
PEMBA, Tanzania — The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, on March 14, 2026, joined residents and various community groups in Wete, North Pemba Region, for a Ramadan Iftar gathering she hosted at Utaani Secondary School hall.
The event brought together leaders, community members and representatives from different groups to share a meal during the holy month of Ramadan, reflecting values of unity, compassion and togetherness.
President Samia’s participation in the Iftar highlighted the close relationship between national leadership and citizens while reinforcing the importance of social harmony and solidarity during the sacred fasting period observed by Muslims around the world.
The gathering also served as an opportunity to strengthen community bonds and encourage shared values of peace, respect and cooperation, which are central to the spirit of Ramadan.
