Tanzania Strengthens Investment Ties as Deputy Minister Maghembe Meets China’s Liaoning Fangda Investors

Tanzania continues to position itself as a key investment destination in Africa following high-level talks between Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Ngwaru Jumanne Maghembe, and a delegation of investors from China’s Liaoning Fangda Group.

The meeting, held in Dodoma on March 31, 2026, focused on expanding investment opportunities across strategic sectors including healthcare, aviation, and mining.

The Chinese delegation, led by Vice Chairman Ao Xinhua, has been in Tanzania since March 25, 2026, conducting investment exploration visits in Zanzibar, Dodoma, and Dar es Salaam. During their visit, the team engaged with government leaders and technical experts to assess the country’s investment climate and opportunities.

Deputy Minister Maghembe welcomed the investors and expressed appreciation for their interest in Tanzania, noting that their visit reflects growing confidence in the country’s economic potential. He assured the delegation of the government’s full support and commitment to facilitating their investment plans.

“The Government of Tanzania is ready to work closely with you to ensure your investment ambitions are successfully realized,” he said.

The Liaoning Fangda delegation commended the government for its cooperation and warm reception, pledging to return to Tanzania to implement their investment projects.

This development marks a significant outcome of diplomatic and economic engagements led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, during his official visit to China in June 2025, where he held discussions with the company’s leadership.

The ongoing engagement underscores Tanzania’s strategic efforts to attract foreign direct investment and strengthen bilateral economic relations with China.
