Tanzania’s reputation as one of Africa’s safest and most welcoming tourist destinations has received a significant boost following praise from France’s Ambassador, Anne-Sophie Avé, for the exceptional services provided by the Tourism and Diplomatic Police Unit in Arusha.
During her visit to the unit on April 1, 2026, the ambassador commended the professionalism, dedication, and efficiency of officers in ensuring the safety and comfort of international visitors, including French tourists traveling to Tanzania for leisure and official engagements.
Arusha, widely known as the gateway to Tanzania’s world-renowned safari destinations, continues to stand out not only for its natural beauty but also for its strong commitment to visitor safety and service excellence.
Ambassador Avé emphasized that the positive experiences of tourists are a key factor in strengthening Tanzania’s global tourism appeal, noting that her embassy will continue to share encouraging feedback about the country’s hospitality and security standards.
The head of the Tourism Police Unit, Superintendent of Police Waziri Tenga, highlighted that continuous training and collaboration with tourism stakeholders, including the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO), have enhanced the capacity of officers to deliver world-class services.
The unit has also attracted recognition from several international missions, further reinforcing confidence in Tanzania as a preferred travel destination.
With its combination of breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and a strong safety framework, Tanzania continues to position itself as a leading destination for global travelers seeking authentic and secure African experiences.
