The 2026 National Uhuru Torch Relay was officially launched today, April 2, 2026, by the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi. The launch took place at Gombani Stadium in Chake Chake, South Pemba.
