The Safari Field Challenge 2026 is underway in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with organizers aiming to spotlight the destination’s lesser-known attractions beyond the iconic Ngorongoro Crater.
The annual tourism competition, sponsored by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, brings together professional safari guides in a high-level contest designed to test their skills while promoting Tanzania’s diverse tourism offerings.
Speaking on the initiative, Mariam Kobelo, Tourism Services Manager at Ngorongoro, said the competition is strategically designed to open up new areas within the conservation area that remain largely unexplored by visitors.
“Ngorongoro is more than just the crater. There are many untouched areas that tourists have yet to experience,” she said, emphasizing the broader ecological, cultural, and scenic richness of the المنطقة.
Through the challenge, participating guides are expected to navigate various terrains and attractions, helping to showcase hidden landscapes, wildlife corridors, and cultural heritage sites that define Ngorongoro as one of Africa’s most unique destinations.
The event is also part of a broader effort to diversify tourism experiences in Tanzania, reduce pressure on over-visited sites, and promote sustainable tourism practices across the conservation area.
By highlighting new routes and experiences, Safari Field Challenge 2026 is expected to enhance Tanzania’s global tourism competitiveness and attract a new segment of adventure and eco-conscious travelers.
