The Prime Minister, Mwigulu Nchemba, today (April 20, 2026) presented a wheelchair to Helena Joseph Mwandu, a person with special needs, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dodoma.

The Prime Minister had pledged to provide the wheelchair during their interaction following a public rally he addressed at Msanga Primary School grounds in Chamwino District, Dodoma, on April 19, 2026.

Speaking after receiving the wheelchair, Helena expressed her gratitude to Dr. Mwigulu for the support, noting that the mobility aid will significantly assist her in carrying out her daily activities.

Same, Kilimanjaro Region | 2026 — A total of 1,690 residents from Same and Mwanga districts in Kilimanjaro Region have received TZS 410,905,000 in consolation and compensation payments following damages caused by dangerous and destructive wild animals during the 2024/2025 financial year. The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, announced the development during a public rally addressed by the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba, in Same District. Dr. Kijaji emphasized that the Government, under the leadership of President H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has significantly improved compensation rates for citizens affected by wildlife-related incidents. She further noted the introduction of a digital payment system designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and timely disbursement of funds to beneficiaries. “Conservation is for the benefit of citizens,” Dr. Kijaji affirmed, underscoring the Government’s commitment to ensuring that communities living near conservation areas derive tangible economic and social benefits.
