From ‘The Royal Tour’ to Global Expansion: Tanzania Accelerates Tourism Ambitions

As part of Tanzania’s intensified efforts to strengthen its international tourism profile and achieve the target of attracting eight million tourists by 2030, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, today, May 7, 2026, held strategic engagements with leading global tourism promotion companies on the sidelines of the World Travel & Tourism Council Summit.

The first meeting was held with Peter Greenberg Worldwide, based in California, United States, where Dr. Abbasi and the company’s founder, Peter Greenberg, discussed the global impact and success of the documentary Tanzania: The Royal Tour and explored potential next steps to expand the project’s international reach following its widespread acclaim both domestically and abroad.

Dr. Abbasi also met with Nick Evans, Founder of Beautiful Destinations, a global tourism marketing company with offices in New York, London, and Dubai. The discussions focused on innovative destination marketing strategies, the use of artificial intelligence in tourism promotion, and leveraging the company’s international network of more than 500 travel content creators across the world.

The high-level WTTC strategic forum, bringing together tourism stakeholders and government leaders, continued aboard the Crystal Serenity cruise ship, which today docked at the Port City of Port Said after departing from Sokhna Port yesterday. The summit is expected to conclude tomorrow in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, Egypt.
