Abercrombie & Kent Expands Tanzania Tourism Investment as Luxury Travel Interest Surges

Billionaire entrepreneur and owner of one of the world’s leading luxury travel companies, Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Manfredi Lefebvre, has commended the rapid progress of Tanzania’s tourism sector and pledged to expand the company’s investment footprint in the country.

Mr. Lefebvre made the remarks today, Friday, May 8, 2026, during high-level discussions with the Permanent Secretary of Tanzania’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, held on the sidelines of an international tourism leadership forum taking place aboard the billionaire’s luxury cruise vessel, currently sailing from Port Said to Alexandria in Egypt.

“Tanzania is among the African countries demonstrating remarkable progress in the tourism sector. I see the current leadership placing significant emphasis on tourism development, particularly under the leadership of President Samia,” Mr. Lefebvre stated. He was also among the distinguished international guests who attended the launch of the acclaimed documentary Tanzania: The Royal Tour in New York, United States, four years ago.

Abercrombie & Kent has already established a strong presence in Tanzania, bringing thousands of international tourists into the country, including luxury travelers arriving through its subsidiary cruise line, Crystal Cruises, whose vessels regularly dock in Zanzibar, Kilwa, and Dar es Salaam.

For his part, Dr. Abbasi reaffirmed the Government of Tanzania’s commitment to continued collaboration and support for the company’s future expansion plans and broader investment initiatives within the country’s tourism sector.
