President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has extended financial support amounting to TZS 30 million to renowned Tanzanian Hip Hop artist and former Mikumi Member of Parliament, Professor Jay, as part of efforts to support his recovery and wellbeing following recent health challenges.
The support was officially handed over on May 10, 2026, by the Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hon. Hamis Mwinjuma, accompanied by the Mayor of Dar es Salaam City Council, Hon. Nurdin Bilal Juma. During the visit, the delegation conveyed a special message from President Samia, reaffirming the Government’s appreciation for Professor Jay’s significant contribution to the music industry and society at large.
Speaking after receiving the support, Professor Jay expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Samia for her compassion and continued support throughout his period of illness and recovery. He also thanked Tanzanians for their prayers, encouragement, and solidarity during the challenging period.
