
The Executive Director of the Mbeya District Council, Ms. Erica E. Yegella, has expressed gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for approving 259 new employment positions allocated to the council between January and May 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the delivery of social services to citizens.
Ms. Yegella stated that in January 2026, the council received 111 new employees across various sectors, including primary and secondary education, health, construction, community development, administration, and communications. In April 2026, the council was allocated an additional 118 positions in the education, health, construction, and accounting sectors.
She further noted that in May 2026, the council received 30 additional health sector positions aimed at improving service delivery efficiency in dispensaries and health centres established across Mbeya District.
According to Ms. Yegella, the recruitment exercise, conducted through the President’s Office – Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, reflects the strong commitment of the Sixth Phase Government to strengthening human resources in key public service sectors.
“In just five months, the President has approved more than 250 new employment opportunities for Mbeya District Council. This is a significant opportunity for Tanzanian youth and an important contribution toward improving the efficiency and quality of public service delivery,” Ms. Yegella stated.
