Russia Day Celebrated at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair to Boost Tanzania–Russia Trade and Investment

Dar es Salaam, July 9, 2026 — Russia Day was officially celebrated during the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), reinforcing growing trade and investment relations between the Russian Federation, Tanzania, and the wider East African region.

The event brought together government leaders, business executives, investors, and institutions from Russia, Tanzania, and neighboring East African countries to explore new commercial partnerships, strengthen business networks, and promote investment opportunities across strategic sectors.

The ceremony was officially inaugurated by H.E. Andrey Avetisyan, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Republic of Tanzania, together with Hon. Dennis Londo, Tanzania’s Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade, increasing investment flows, and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

Russia showcased its industrial and technological capabilities through the participation of leading companies and institutions, including Rosatom, Wildberries, the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, Rapid Bio, and other organizations, presenting innovative technologies, products, and investment opportunities in sectors such as energy, trade, logistics, healthcare, and industrial development.

Since 2024, Russia Day has been organized annually as part of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair under the coordination of the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade). The initiative has become an important platform for advancing economic diplomacy, facilitating business-to-business engagement, and promoting sustainable trade and investment partnerships between Tanzania and the Russian Federation.

The annual celebration reflects the growing momentum of Tanzania–Russia economic relations and supports broader efforts to expand commercial cooperation between Russia and East African markets.
